Argymak Attar — ‘racing horses’, from argymak, the swift noble steed of the steppe — is a galloping picture-piece, and its whole character is motion: hooves drumming, manes flying, the herd surging across open ground. It is a compact showpiece credited to Altai, shorter than the great kúіs but vivid and immediate.

Rated ★★☆ at ♩=150, its difficulty is rhythmic drive rather than length: the repeated galloping figure must stay perfectly even to convey the run. Build it from the short sections — intro, the two statements of the main theme, coda and outro — practising the gallop at 0.5× until it is machine-steady. Keep the strokes light and bouncing rather than hammered; the illusion of speed comes from evenness and lift, not from force. A satisfying piece to bring up to tempo once the pattern locks in.
